.Can you give us an update on what has been going on with the band since the recording of the new ep?
Well, the reception and the reviews of the EP have been good everywhere. We’re really satisfied with it, despite it took a long time to get released.
2.Recently you have released it more about the musical direction of the new recording and alos hos does it differ from your previous full length and demo?
Our line up has changed since the recording of the Reborn in Death LP, so of course the sound has changed as well. I think we now have a kind of Heavy Metal melodic vibe in the doomy riffs, and more compact and aggressive riffs for the faster parts. Gusi, the previous drummer, is now on the guitar, along with me, and Michel is the current drummer. Vali is still the vocalist and Makeda on bass. The sound may have changed, but the path and the objectives are still the same: raw Death Metal the way it should be.
3.What are some of the lyrical topics and subjects the band explores with the newer music?
The same as always, you know: death, putrefaction, tombs, horror films…
4.The band was originally known as Undertaker, what was the decision behind the name change and also the meaning and inspiration behind the name'Morbid Flesh'?
I wasn’t in the band when the name changed, but as far as I know they played in a more melodic way, and they wanted to have a rawer sound and a different aim when UNDERTAKER became MORBID FLESH.
5.What are some of the best shows that the band has played so far and also how would you describe your stage performance?
We haven’t played much with the current line-up. Our last gig was with INSULTERS and CRUZ a couple of weeks ago and it worked well considering we hadn’t played in a long time. We don’t use fireworks or things like that on stage, so I think we play like a regular Death Metal band.
6.Do you have any touring or show plans for the future?
We’re looking forward to play live more as long as the gig lineup is interesting. We’re talking about some things in the near future but, since we haven’t really specified anything, we can’t tell.
7.The new ep come out on Unholy Prophecies, can you tell us a little bit more about this label?
Walter is doing a great job with Unholy Prophecies, even though the label is still beginning. We met him through his relationship with INSULTERS, and he has shown a genuine interest in our new songs. I think that for us, in the levels we’re working, our new stuff can’t be promoted better.
8.On a worldwide level how has the feedback been to your music by fans of death metal?
For now the feedback is being great. The opinions about our work are being pretty similar, so I think we’ve achieved a specific sound.
9.What is going on with the other musical projects these days that some of the band members are involved?
Makeda plays the bass in INSULTERS (crude and fueled Metal of Death). Michel is the drummer in TORT (Doom-Sludge), they have recently recorded a full length that is going to kick asses. Vali sings in CRUZ (Death Metal with punkish vibe), they’re going to release their first work soon, and Gusi plays drums in INSULTERS and GRAVEYARD (ancient Death Metal). Also, Gusi’s AGONISED has finally released its demo through Black Mass Records.
10.When can we expect another full length album and also what musical direction do you see the band heading into during the future?
We’re working on new songs, but we don’t have a specific idea on what we are going to do in the near future. Probably we won’t record a new full length by now, but it’s too early to say something. We’re boosting the doomy and melodic parts, and the faster ones as well, so contrast and feelings are going to be higher.
11.What are some of the bands or musical styles that have had an influence on your newer music and also what are you listening to nowadays?
The influences for MORBID FLESH haven’t changed much. You know, the classic Metal bands and albums, from Europa and America mainly, that can be related with Death Metal in any way. I’ve been listening a lot to the last MORBUS CHRON album, Sweven, and also ANTAEUS, THORNS, THIN LIZZY and first RAINBOW.
12.What are some of your non musical interests?
We all have our own lives, hobbies, jobs and studies, nothing out of the ordinary, if you ask me.
