This is a review of another recording from Pestilence this time being a live show that was recorded the the Dynamo Open Air in 1992 along with 7 bonus tracks from the tour they had done with Monstrosity and Torchure the same year and the album is called "Presence Of The Pest" and will be released in November by Vic Records.
A very fast and raw sound along with some blast beats start off the album along with death metal growls making their presence known a few seconds later and the riffs also bring in melodies at times and all of the musical instruments have a very powerful sound to them and the music also gets very technical at times.
Throughout the recording you can hear a great mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts and the solos range from chaotic, raw, melodic and technical and the band also has a great inter reaction with the crowd and all of the songs stick to a heavier direction with no soft or clean parts ever utilized and they also only bring in songs from ''Consuming Impulse" and "Testimony Of the Ancients".
With this live recording Pestilence brings in songs from both their traditional and technical death metal days and the album is a combination of both eras, the production has a very raw sound with all of the songs recorded live while the lyrics cover Occultism, Death and Suffering themes.
In my opinion this is a very great sounding live recording from Pestilence and if you are a fan of this band, you should check out this album. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Chemo Therapy" "Lost Souls" "Testimony" and "Prophetic Revelations". 8 out of 10.
