ghUsa/Oswedeme/White Square Music/2017 CD Review
ghUsa are a band from France that has been featured before in this zine and plays an old school form of death metal and this is a review of their 2017 album "Oswedeme" which will be released in May by White Square Music.
Classical guitar playing starts off the album along with some drum beats a few seconds alter and you can also hear all of the musical instruments that are present on the recording and when solos and leads are utilized they are done in a very melodic fashion and after awhile the music starts getting real heavy.
Vocals are mostly deep death metal growls along with a few screams and when the music speeds up a great amount of blast beats can be heard and the songs also bring in a great mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts and on some tracks the vocals have a semi melodic tone to them and while the music is heavily rooted in the 90's the production gives the songs a more modern feeling and classical guitars also make a return in certain sections of the recording.
ghUsa creates another recording that remains true to the old school style of death metal from previous releases, the production sounds very professional while the lyrics cover anti religion themes.
In my opinion this is another great sounding album from ghUsa and if you are a fan of old school death metal, you should check out this recording. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Project 9: :Epitaph" "in Gods We Fear" and "Brave new Hell". 8 out of 10.
