Mass Burial are a band from Spain that has been featured before in this zine and plays a very old school form of death metal and this is a review of their 2017 album "Breeding Plagues" which was released by Immortal Souls Productions.
A nature orientated intro starts off the album along with a brief use of keyboards before going into a very fast and brutal musical direction which also uses a great amount of blast beats while the vocals are mostly death metal growls along with the music also being very heavily rooted in the 90's.
A great amount of dark sounding melodies can also be heard in the guitar riffing while the songs also bring in a great mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts along with some clean playing also being used briefly and when guitar solos and leads a re utilized they remain true to an old school style of death metal as well as having their melodic moments and clean guitars are added onto the closing track.
Mass Burial creates another recording that remains true to the old school style of death metal from previous releases, the production sounds very professional while the lyrics cover death, torture, war, and necromancy themes.
In my opinion this is another great sounding album from Mass Burial and if you are a fan of old school death metal, you should check out this recording. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Breeding Plagues" "Necromancer" "Redemption" and "Hell". 8 out of 10.
